    MAIN COMPONENTS :
     
   
1. Plante Positive Plates
 
Constructed of Ultra-pure lead (99.99%) to ensure least open circuit loss and no fall-off in capacity thourghout their long life.
   
2. Negative Plates
 
Pasted grid construction. Designed for balanced performance and life.
   
3. Separator
 
Sintered PVC providing a complete diaphragm between the plates. Seperators are inert chemically, have excellent oxidation resistance and their high degree of porosity ensures minimum internal resistance.
   
4. Containers
 
Mouulded from transparent Styrene Acrylonitrile (SAN) giving excellent clarity, outstanding chemical resistance, rigidity and toughness with very high insulating qualities which eleminate the need for seperate cell insulators. Transparency enables the electrolyte level and the cell condition to be monitored at a glance.
   
5. Cell Lids
 
Moulded from opaque SAN and sealed to the Container. Can be easily removed if the need for repair occurs.
   
6. Microporous Ceramic Vent Plugs
 
Specially designed incorporating a microporous ceramic filter which effectively returns all acid spray to the cell, but allows free exit of oxygen and hydrogen which is generated towards the end of boost charging.
   
7. High Conductivity Cell Pillars & Connectors
   
 
YHP range of cells are especially suited for high current duties (3 seconds to 1 hour) as they have tinned copper insert pillars and lead plated copper connectors as under :
     
    INITIAL CHANRGING INSTRUCTIONS
   
Charging may be commenced at any rate between the startig and finishing rates.

Once cell voltage reach 2.36V, reduce current to finishing rate and continue charging. Ensure that total Ah input however remains same..

If during any time of charging, temperature reaches 50 C, stop charging. Allow temperature to come down to 40 C and continue charging at finishing rate. Ensure total Ah input is maintained. If however, the time taken for the cell to cool down to 40 C is inordinately long, recharging may be started at 45 C.

Cells are considered to be fully charged once three sucessive hourly readings of cell voltage and electrolyte gravity are found to be constant. Hovever, the minimum toatl Ah input, as mentioned in the table must be provided to the cells even if the voltages and specific gravities are observed to be constant before that. On completion of charge adjust acid level to 'Maximum' after correcting specific gravity of electrolyte to 1.200+- 0.005 at 27 C.

    FEATURES :
   
1. Wide Range
 
Six (6) Plate sized i.e. TB, TV, TM, TL, TH and TTH types cater for a wide capacity range from 20 AH to 2500 AH.
   
2. Container
 
Hard rubber cell boxes conforming strictly to the requirement of IS : 1146 ARE USED FOR THE 20 TO 2500 AH range whist polypropylene plastic containers are also available for the 60 to 150 AH range. All are closed type cells having lids sealed with bituminous sealing compound.
   
3. Rugged Tabular Positive Plates
 
The positive active material is encased in a one-piece. Multi-tube woven Gauntlet of high tensile acid-resistant plyester. The polyester ‘Gauntlet' which is resin impregnated, combines high tensile strength with resilience and enables the electrolyte to penetrate freely whist acting as on effective retainer for the highly active material. It is also capable of withstanding the extreme stresses of expansion and contraction of the active material during regular charge/discharge encountered in service life.
   
4. Pasted Negative Plates
 
The pasted negative plates are designed to match the power and long life of the Tubular positive plates. The negative active material contains proprietary additives and special expanders for long life and peak power. It is retained firmly in place by sturdy grids designed to lock it in.
   
5. Electrolyte Level Indicator
 
Cells are fitted with robust easy-to-read electrolyte level indicator floats enclosed in transparent tube covers.
   
6. Microporous Ceramic Vent Plugs
 
Specially designed incorporating a microporous ceramic filter which effectively returns all acid spray to the cell, but allows free exit of oxygen and hydrogen which is generated towards the end of boost charging.
   
7. Microporous PVC or PE
 
High porosity separator form permanent insulating diaphragms between the plates and by virtue of their high porosity, low electrical resistance and excellent oxidation resistance serve as perfect separation medium.
   
8. Heavy Duty Terminals
 
Where high rate discharge is needed, the generous cross-section of the terminals provide maximum current.
   
9. Low Resistance Bolted Connectors
 
Bolted inter-cell connectors ensure easy installation and are mode from lead alloy or lead plated copper of generous cross-section for high current duties. All nuts, bolts and washers are lead plated for protection against corrosion and sulphation.

    THE EXTRA POWER UPS BATTERY  
   
   
 

Tubular batteries use a special technology by which the active material is encapsulated in polyester tubes to prevent 'shedding'. The electrode geometry facilities 'cyclic' deep discharges i.e. long repetitive power outages They are recommended for back up power for UPS where environmental conditions are tough and high ambient temperatures are common. Exide , for more than 25 years now, has been manufacturing the unique "Exide EL" range of tubular products which has proved to be the most reliable source of back up power for inverters and UPS operating under demanding conditions. These are capable of long hours of backup.

   
  BENEFITS :
 
The float life of Exide EL extends well beyond 5 year (Avg. 5-8 years)
The cyclic life of EL is also very high to the tune of 1200 cycles at 80% depth of discharge.
The low antimony content of the spines ensures a very low self discharge loss of the order of 1% of the 10 hour rate capacity per week at 25%.
The combination of low antimony alloy and ceramic vent plug keeps the water addition requirement very low. A topping up frequency of once in 6-9 months can easily be achieved in normal operating conditions.

    POWERING THE CYBER WORLD  
   
   
 
VRLA batteries are flat plate batteries which do not require periodic topping-up with water and normally do not emit any fumes or gases on a continuous basis.They are best suited for applications where back up requirement is usually short, normally not exceeding 30 mins to 1 hour. They are the automatic choice where ambient temperature is not very high and space is a constraint. Exide's Powersafe VRLA batteries are a superior range of products that provide ideal back up power for UPS power.
   
  FEATURES:
 
VRLA batteries do not need periodic service or topping up.
If there is a major space constraint or a restriction on battery emissions the VRLA has to be the automatic choice.
